A 200-bed multi-specialty hospital was operating on legacy copper telephone wiring laid 15 years ago, much of which had degraded and caused frequent call failures between nursing stations and doctors. There was no CCTV coverage in pharmacy, ICU corridors, or the billing area, and access to the NICU, OT complex, and pharmacy store was controlled only by manual registers.
Ran new Cat6A structured cabling to all 8 floors and 200+ data points, replacing the degraded copper backbone. Deployed a Grandstream IP PBX integrated with the nurse-call system so call-bell alerts ring directly on duty-station IP phones, with paging zones for emergency announcements. Installed Hikvision IP cameras across ICU corridors, pharmacy, billing, and entry points, and added ZKTeco biometric access control to the NICU, OT complex, and pharmacy store with logged entry records.
Nurse-call response times improved measurably as alerts now reach duty IP phones instantly instead of relying on overhead paging alone. The hospital achieved full CCTV coverage of all critical zones ahead of its NABH accreditation renewal, and NICU/OT access is now restricted and auditable. IT downtime related to cabling faults has been eliminated.
