A growing engineering college with 3,000 students across 6 departments had no campus-wide network — each block ran its own unmanaged switches and a separate internet connection. Classrooms still relied on projectors and whiteboards, faculty had no way to share digital content easily, and the internal phone system was a decade-old analog exchange with frequent line faults.
Built a structured Layer 3 network backbone connecting all 6 academic blocks, hostels, and the administrative building through a fibre ring, with centrally managed Wi-Fi access points covering classrooms, labs, library, and common areas. Installed interactive flat panel displays in 60 classrooms with screen-sharing and annotation tools for faculty. Replaced the analog exchange with a Grandstream IP PBX giving every department, lab, and hostel warden an extension on a single dial plan.
Students and faculty now have reliable Wi-Fi across the entire campus, including hostels and the library. Faculty adoption of digital teaching content rose significantly within the first semester after rollout, and the new IP PBX eliminated recurring line-fault complaints from departments. The college IT team now manages the entire network centrally instead of block-by-block.
